Paolo Baldini was born in Pordenone, in 1975. With his first band, B.R. Stylers, he stood out on the Italian reggae scene thanks to the massive use of electronics and Brittish-inspired sounds, wich still are his distinctive features today.
In 2006, Baldini joined the longest-lived reggae band Africa Unite as bass player and co-producer of two albums (Controlli and Rootz). In 2014, Baldini made his debut with his solo project PAOLO BALDINI DUBFILES, focused on his work as a dubmaster, making the self-titled album. In February 2015 he traveled to Jamaica to record what it would become his second album "At Song Embassy Papine Kingston 6", borned from the collaboration with numerous artists from the island.
The two-years 2018/2019 was a very prolific studio work period : Baldini produced " To the Foundation " by Forelock & Arawak, "Large" by Mellow Mood and their respective dub sequels: "To the Foundation of Dub" and "LargeDub".
All these albums are released on Baldini's label, La Tempesta Dub, which he manages with Mellow Mood. In 2020 and 2021 Paolo made several productions in his studio, including the collaboration with the historical label Pressure Sounds and the creation for the Echo Beach label of two album of dub versions in which he remixes some hits by Dubblestandart and Noiseshaper.
On March 27, 2024, La Tempesta Dub released "InTheShell", his third album, and followed that same year with a fourth: "Garage dub" on December 6, 2024. His latest single is "Dub me free", available since the February 14, 2025.
In the intervening period, Baldini has been busy touring extensively throughout Europe, the United States and Latin America, and has worked as a producer for artists such as Mellow Mood, L.A.B., Forelock, Noiseshaper, Dubblestandart, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Jovanotti, Vasco Brondi and historic reggae music labels such as Pressure Sounds and Echo Beach.
